Behind our company is a round-the-world story that links Croatia with the UK, via Australia and Africa. In 1907 Marija Tabak and Nikola Spriljan, a couple of young Croatian nationals emigrated to Australia. In 1917 the couple had a son. The child, whilst born in Australia, was raised with Croatian language, habits and customs. After fighting the Japanese in the Pacific with the Australian army, the son found employment with the British Colonial Services in Africa. It was there that he married aScot and this led to a life in Scotland where he has now lived for the last 50 years. Now aged 90 years old he remains remarkably fit and well. This gentleman is grandfather to Paul Wisely, one of Croatia2’s founders and director of the UK operation and it was this 100 year old story which joins family connections from the past with the present and that led to and inspired the formation of Croatia2 Limited.
